WSJ: To question, “Could Texas become a blue state?” Gov. Rick Perry “emits a hearty guffaw”
“The University of Texas will change its colors to maroon and white before Texas goes purple, much less blue.”
Gov. Perry was in D.C. Friday and Saturday. He met with Republican governors, most of whom – but not Perry – also attended the winter meeting of the National Governors Association, which included a Sunday night dinner at the White House. (Perry returned home Saturday.)
The Wall Street Journal interview with Perry noted that, “Many political pollsters and demographers predict the state could get wobbly sooner than many Republicans think, possibly going blue by as early as 2020.
“Gov. Perry rejects that notion with his own version of “Remember the Alamo.” Why?
“It’s because of freedom,” he says. “People in Texas truly aspire to freedom. They don’t want government coming in and telling them how much of this or how much of that.”
“At heart, he argues, there’s just something about Texas. “Democrats are about government getting bigger and bigger and government providing more and more,” he says. “Texans have never been for that, and Texans never will.”
Not so fast
Not everyone in the Texas GOP shares Perry’s sure confidence.
At Real Clear Politics, Scott Conroy visited Austin and reports that, “While the knee-jerk reaction among many Republicans would be to dismiss the idea that the state could be competitive in 2016 — just four years after Mitt Romney carried it by 16 points over President Obama — Texas GOP Chairman Steve Munisteri is in no mood to sneer.
“In an interview with RCP, Munisteri said that he has long taken seriously the possibility that Texas could become a battleground as early as 2016, particularly if Hillary Clinton becomes the Democratic standard-bearer.

Dallas Rep. says Texas must prove to the nation that the red mega-state can be governed not only conservatively but well.
Good morning Austin.
This is Rep. Dan Branch , R-Dallas, speaking at yesterday’s day-long Texas Conservative Roundtable Policymakers Conference at the Omni downtown.
“Michigan and Ohio were once great economic engines. If i were California I’d be very concerned about the direction of my state. I mean there’s a state that added congressional seats in every decennial census until this last time. Texas added four new congressional seats. No other state added four. No other state added three. Very few added two. We are the states that’s moving and therefore, as everyone pays attention to us, we beter be responsible with that and show that a conservative, red state, right-of-center state, can govern itself and can solve the issues of the day, the problems and challenges of the day.”
That set the tone for the conference, which began with opening remarks by House Speaker Joe Straus, who said conservatives must “recognize that a healthy business climate requires more than low taxes. The people of this state, young and old, urban and rural, want to know Texas will have the water, the roads and the workers that we will need in order to grow.”
There were panels on education, transportation, healthcare, the budget, water and energy. Branch, who chairs the House Higher Education Committee, and others on the education panel, recognized that Texas is a state in some peril.
Bill Hammond , president and CEO of the Texas Association of Business. “Unless we get this issue we’re discussing right, unfortunately Dr. (Steve) Murdock (Rice University demographer) will be right. He’s predicted that by 2040, 30 percent of adult Texans will lack a high school diploma unless we do a beter job of of educating our young people. That’s third world country territory for Texas … Our best educated are old people like me and that’s not good for our future.”
Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock , R-Killeen, co-chair of the Joint Select Committee on Public School Finance. “Unless we turn around the black student, the brown student, the poor white student, our future workforce is dismal.”
Branch said that on education, water, roads and power, Texas had to rise to the occasion.
“If we don’t succeed people will say, OK, you had low taxation, you had light regulation, but you failed in the most fundamental areas of limited government, you didn’t invest in infrastructure, you had a massive influx of people – 1,200 a day – and you failed to secure your future.”
It was hard to know exactly what to make of the Texas Conservative Roundtable, which is only about a year old. The lead organizer of yesterday’s conference was Chuck Hahn of Southlake, a Texan of relatively recent vintage who served as chief of staff to California State Senate Republican leader, Dave Cogdill.
AgendaWise last year traced some of its funding indirectly to Straus.
The conference had its corporate sponsors: BP America, ANGA, Pioneer Natural Resources USA, AT&T Services, the Texas Farm Bureau, Wagner Oil, America’s Natural Gas Alliance, Hayden Oil & Gas and Gategreen Partners.
From Straus, who opened the day, to critical legislators like Branch, who peopled its panels, to Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst , who closed the day, it had heavyweight participation. But to call attendance light would be generous. Never more than 50 and sometimes fewer than 20.
“The whole point of this is not to have an agenda but to have a conversation,” said Dallas attorney Brigham McCown , a member of the TCR board.
But, almost as soon as it was formed, TCR issued a legislative scorecard for the last session and, after it develops an agenda for this session based on conversations like yesterday’s, it will do the same for this session.
Gromer Jeffers reports in The Dallas Morning News that Branch is considering running for attorney general if Greg Abbott decides to seek another office.
“It’s not a burp; it’s barely a fart.”
That’s how California Gov. Jerry Brown dismissed Gov. RIck Perry’s California radio ads inviting California businesses to relocate to the greener pastures of Texas. The Dallas Morning News’ Wayne Slater reported that at media availability at a UPS distribution center Tuesday, Brown said the measly $24,000 radio ad buy, paid for by TexasOne, a public-private partnership, was too piddling to be taken seriously.
“If they want to get in the game, let them spend $25 million on radio and television. Then I’ll take them seriously,” said Brown.
Machine Gun Morgan
CNN host Piers Morgan, who backs an assault weapons ban, brought his show to a gun store in Katy, Texas, Monday night, where he tried firing a machine gun and interviewed Attorney General Greg Abbott , who, when asked why anyone would need such weaponry, answered: “The [Mexican] cartels and the drug dealers are crossing the border confronting ranchers on an ongoing basis in the state of Texas. They deserve, under the Second Amendment, to have the ability to meet force with force, which is what the Second Amendment guarantees. So these ranchers need to be able to protect themselves.”
On his Facebook page, Gov. Rick Perry , wrote that he and “all Texas law-abiding gun owners hope that Piers Morgan enjoyed Texas. He failed, however, to convince anyone that citizens should lose the ability to protect themselves and their families by having their 2nd Amendment rights and freedoms taken from them.” [......]
Column written by Theresa Catalani
Starting at the end of 2012 with the “fiscal cliff” negotiations, it seems clear that America will jump from one fiscal crisis to another so long as Washington refuses to acknowledge its addiction to government spending. Like all addicts, they need to get beyond the denial stage before they (we all) hit rock bottom.
Republicans in the U.S. Senate at least seem to understand with their leader Mitch McConnell saying on ABC News, “The tax issue is behind us. Now, the question is what are we going to do about the real problem… Now it’s time to pivot and turn to the real issue, which is our spending addiction.”[....]

Today I watched the first Formula 1 car race in this year’s season. Many ask me why I like this so much. Well, the answer is pretty simple, It is a race, one-driver-against-another, but at the same time it is a team sport.
Every Team, let’s say Red Bull Racing who holds the current world championship, has two drivers in the field who compete against each other and both drivers also fight for the so called Team-Championship.
In every race the drivers collect points and also the team collects points for technical improvements based on placing’s of the drivers. So it is just normal that at a certain point, when it is obvious a certain driver can’t win the world championship anymore (based on the collected points) he takes one for the team, protects the leading racer, and keeps the competitors back no matter if he likes his team partner or not – for the team championship.
What does this have to do with politics you ask? Everything – A Presidential race is not much different. We are at a point in the race where some contenders can’t win and it is time to take one for the team.
We have 4 Racers in the challenge Santorum, Romney, Gingrich, and Paul and 1 Team the GOP, the problem right now is nobody wants to take one for the team.
And while GOP contenders are busy smearing one another, throwing dirt on one another, and fighting senseless trench warfare on one another Obama has an easy game.
For the sitting president this election is like a 90yard rush into the end zone, touchdown included, with no defensive line there to try and block him.
All he has needed to do is sit back and quietly plan his strategy, and thanks to the ridiculous amount of GOP Debates he knows perfectly well what their strategy is.
And not only that:
Obama also places laws prohibiting every citizen from protesting against him without GOP candidates even reacting.
Obama Mocks the GOP contenders on gasoline prices – with no backtalk whatsoever (Watch the YouTube Video here)
Sends his VP Joe Biden into election mode spreading the word that the GOP has no clue about the middle class (of course in front of a crowd where the dinner cost $ 10,000 a plate).
And the list just continues.
Voters and activists
In the 2010 Midterm election we all stood together, tall and united, knowing what was at stake.
But just like the candidates, the Voters are back where they were in 2008; everybody against everybody and no shoulder-to-shoulder standing whatsoever.
When I look at my network and read the comments I actually want to cry.
I can’t vote for Santorum because………..
I can’t vote for Romney because……..
I can’t Vote for Gingrich or Paul because……………..
He is a RINO, he is big Government, no he is not a RINO, no he is not Big Government, bla, bla, bla – it makes me sick.
My favorite line is: I can’t vote for either and before I vote for the second best I would rather not vote at all. Now this one really makes me sick.
EVERY VOTE NOT PLACED IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA
IF YOU DON’T VOTE YOU DON’T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO COMPLAIN
Here is a little lesson in political reality. My favorite candidate would be Lt. Col. Ret. Congressman Allen West of Florida, but he won’t run.
And since politics is not a “musical request program”, and unless anyone of the voters out there has the magic “Jeannie in the Bottle” that can bring the perfect candidate with a blink of her eye we all have to face reality, and pick one that is there.
And that brings me to the candidates
Who is left in the pool of candidates some like, some don’t. Nevertheless it is the best we’ve got right now and the true agenda in “The most important election in America’s history” is to kick Obama out, PERIOD.
Here is my question to the contenders (or some of them): Why do you run in the first place?
a) You run because you are truly interested in saving America
Then it is time to face political reality. Re-evaluate your chances by reality and not mathematical possibility and do the right thing.
Maybe you want to take from the example of Governor Rick Perry (R-TX), who was humble enough to know he is not going to win and took “one for the team”.
b) You run because you are probably at an age where you think this is your last chance to gain the highest Office in the Country if not in the world
Then you better get out of the way. Your knuckle-biting does not serve anybody but Obama. This is not the time for personal conceitedness. We already have a self-absorbed narcissist in the office.
Where do we stand?
Whether you like it or not the fact is, based on delegate count, this has become a two-man-race between Mitt Romney (496) and Rick Santorum (236), with Newt Gingrich (141) and Ron Paul (66) pulling up the rear.
I was pretty much one of the first that brought up Newt Gingrich for President in 2011.
But I also was excited about Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann, and not to mention that I was still praying for Lt. Col. Ret. Congressman West to reconsider and run. Reality speaks a different language and I have had have to face it too.
No matter where you stand on any candidate, the chances for Gingrich or Paul to still win the primaries are less than slim.
Ron Paul had his fun, and everybody agrees that some of his plans are absolutely the best choice for America. Bring our troops home, stop spending money on Wars we have no business being in, and keep our Money at home. But also some of his ideas are, well let’s say a good comedy. End the war on drugs by legalizing them? Give me a break.
He can’t win, that is also a fact. For a smart man like Congressman Paul it is time to endorse one of the front-runners and start supporting him.
Newt Gingrich had 2 resurrections already, but based on the recent numbers the chance of a third is dismal. He lost as a southerner in the Deep South against “Yankee” Santorum. That should be a message.
Another fact is that every political analyst from USA today to the Tea Party economist agrees that neither Newt Gingrich nor Rick Santorum can win if they both continue to stay in the race, BUT – together they can beat Obama.
Rick Santorum already mentioned that he would consider Newt Gingrich as Vice President. So – where is the problem Mr. Gingrich?
Be a sport, be humble like Perry and take one for the team, take one FOR AMERICA
This is a win-win situation for all of us. Gingrich gets his place in the white House, he can take on sleeping disorder VP Joe Biden, and battle him in debates, coach Rick Santorum to beat Obama in debates, while sharing with Santorum his profound knowledge and experience, and together fight for a renewed America.
That way we can make this what it already is – a two-man race between Santorum and Romney, and then the voters decide once and for all.
Meanwhile Newt Gingrich can start taking on Obama and his policies at every turn in order to prevent Obama from spreading his election message un-challenged.
And finally, (I’m almost begging here) close the frontline against our combined enemy Obama.
Candidates, Voters, Activist
This is a message to both, the candidates and the voters.
Stop smearing, whining, and nagging and acting like a spoiled 5 year old brat – or BOTH OF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANOTHER 4 YEARS OF OBAMA FASCISM WITH ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME
We can’t always have what we want, but we have one combined goal and that is SAVING AMERICA FROM OBAMA or see AMERICA GO ALL THE WAY DOWN
And I said it before and say it again to the Voters – you might not like the current choice, but the only other choice is 4 more years of Obama. So
FACE THE DAM REALITY AND VOTE
FOR THE MOST AMAZING SHINING CITY ON THE HILL
AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

It will be exactly two years, on November 28, 2009, since I published my blog “Diversity and Misunderstood political Correctness” and the topic has not yet lost a bit of accuracy still today.
In two additional blogs throughout the years, “Sharia Law – the final Islamization of America” and the 3 part Blog “Radical Muslim University ‘UNISSA’ established in Amarillo, TX” I continued warning about the Muslim Infiltration of our Nation.
When the sitting President Barrack Obama announced during a June 2007 speech available on YouTube that America is no longer a Christian Nation he did more than give a speech – Obama also seemingly blasted the “Christian Right” for hijacking religion and using it to divide a Nation.
But by making those statements he basically gave Muslims in Americathe right and legal authority to do exactly that – USING RELIGION TO DIVIDE A NATION.
He opened what can be considered a Pandora’s Box.
This constant public support by Obama has given Muslims in America a platform to conquer our society from within.
It is not so much the Democrats in their irresponsible naivety and desperate dream of a diverse world trying to make this ideology of diversity, radicalism, and violence possible that surprises me.
It is more the fact that our so called conservative political leaders and Christian religious leaders seem to have given up on what this Country has been built on – built on Judeo-Christian principles and rather joined the path of “political correctness” instead of standing up together with their flock of Christians against muslimization.
Political and Christian Leaders, and Political Correctness in America
When on November 15, 2011 for the first time “PolitiChicks.tv”, starring “Jennie Jones”, “Ann-Marie Murrell”, “Jannique Stewart”, and “Victoria Jackson”, aired those amazing brave ladies sure chose a hot topic for their first episode – “Gays, Muslims & Gay Muslims”.
Unlike similar liberal ultra liberal formats like “Bill Mahar” or “The View” those Conservative Christian Ladies took a closer look at this very interesting and worrying topic without foul language, below the belt comments, or inflammatory speech. They chose a more intellectual and conservative point.
They had over 100,000 clicks within the first 24 hours and were not only immediately hammered by radical left wing diversity protectors insulting and calling them names on Youtube, but also received a very article on Christian Post.
Christian Post is an online Newspaper demanding to be the voice of American Christians.
And yet instead of cheering for the PolitiChicks.tv in satisfaction that we Christians finally have a format that stands up for what this country is all about they questioned publically if “Muslims and Gay Comments cross the line?”.
It seems to be that even Christian platforms would rather play Political Correctness in order not to offend anybody then defending what is rightfully our heritage.
The response to my UNISSA blogs, and the harsh, radical, and insulting comments on the Politichicks sure gives the column from Frontpage Magazine’s Mark Tapson “Smear, Inc.: Silencing the Critics of Islamic Supremacism”, a whole new meaning”.
And the silencing of the Critics of Islamic Supremacism continues unrecognized inAmerica and all over the world.
Completely ignored by the Mainstream media, but reported by Judson Berger of Frontpage Magazine on November 12, 2011, the State department under Secretary Clinton just hosted “religious scholar and advocacy groups” with the goal to follow the European Example in creating new laws, pushed by some Islamic Nations, to stifle religious criticism and debate.
After the Norway killing almost every European country seized the moment and installed so called “Anti Radicalism” Laws allowing them to spy and track down every critics of Islamization; under the false pretense of Anti-Terrorism.
Germany even went so far to maintain Trojan software (so called Bundestrojaner – federal Trojan) that allows domestic secret service to monitor all bloggers, and internet activities of all citizens identifying Islam critics as “radicals” and silence them through fascist Laws.
Austria works currently on the same Laws,Britain has already installed them.
If injustice becomes Law – resistance becomes Duty
Adding those connections up a study published by the OSCE in the spring of 2011 (available on my blogs) makes a lot more sense.
This study makes it a point that part of the Christian persecution taking place in Muslim countries through slaughter and murder are also taking place in Christian home countries such as the United States and Europe through silencing every critic by law.
Even worse, our own lawmakers do everything to prove separation of church and state and dismantle every Christian heritage, insignia, or tradition.
We are not even allowed to say “In Jesus Name”, Christmas trees have to be removed, Christmas transforms to Holidays, crosses have to be removed not to offend Muslims (but Muslim foot washing on public Universities is accepted) and much more.
And at the same time allowing this on the principle of “Freedom of Religion” Muslims become more and more dominant.
Speaking of our Lawmakers
Have you noticed that during these Presidential Debates of Conservative contenders the Media desperately avoided these topics?
All the past debates revolved around the same topics over and over and over, up to the point where sometimes I thought I was watching a re-run.
On the last debate on security only one of the conservative contenders, “Newt Gingrich” was brave enough to talk publicly about the “absurdity of a Muslim filing a lawsuit against a Catholic University”.
Every other contender avoids the topics of Illegal’s running up our social system and Muslim infiltration nor does anyone clearly specify that America is a Judeo-Christian Nation built on Judeo-Christian principles and other religions are welcome to worship whatever they believe in as long as they accept our Christian heritage.
I said in a previous paragraph that I am not surprised by the liberals and their promotion of Islam.
Since the race card is maxed out, overused, and outdated the liberals desperately need a lunatic fringe group they can support.
Their entire ideology of “Diversity”, established in the late 60’s is based on fringe groups. The only problem is that liberals don’t see in their blind radicalism that they are feeding a rattlesnake by supporting Muslims.
The fact is that they really think once they have established Muslims in our country and give them more access to power Muslims will be grateful to them.
But it is the opposite that will happen.
Once the biggest foe for Muslims, the Christians, is all enslaved and silenced the Muslims will immediately turn on their feeder for one simple reason.
Liberalism also stands for: woman’s rights, pro-gay’s, pro-lesbians, abortion, and all types of alternative sexual lifestyles – Basically, everything Islam and Sharia Law punishes by death.
The liberals are feeding a monster they cannot control and doing so with every radicalism, violent, and naivety possible – SUICIDE IN SLOW MOTION.
I’ll keep it with Eliana Benador of Right Side News when she says: “Stop Sharia Muslim Invasion despite Hussein Obama”.
We need to increase the pressure on our political and religious leaders and make them aware that we are not interested in their political correctness, we want them to make a clear statement and stand firm to Christianity, and we are not interested in Koran readings in Christian Churches otherwise we have lost the war against Islamization already.
A friend of mine fromAustriaonce said it pretty accurate when we discussed the 32 times Turks have tried to invade and muslimizeEurope:
Throughout History in 32 Wars we have defended what belongs to us – the 33. War we already lost thanks to your politicians.
